Institute for Childhood Preparedness & Kansas Head Start Association Offer Active Shooter Training

In April 2019, we teamed up with the Kansas Head Start Association to conduct active shooter trainings throughout the State of Kansas. The team provided training sessions in Pittsburg, Kansas City, Salina, Topeka, Wichita, and Dodge City – a journey that spanned over 400 miles.

Along the way, we met many new friends! The dedication of the early child care community to keep children safe never ceases to amaze us. On the lighter side, the team visited several great local restaurants and sites – including Boot Hill and the statue of Wyatt Earp in Dodge City. It was an honor and a privilege working with the dedicated early childhood professionals in Kansas!

The Institute for Childhood Preparedness is continuing to conduct active shooter and emergency preparedness training sessions throughout the United States. We are available to come to host a training event in your community, present to a group, present at a conference, or even provide a keynote address to your event.

In addition, we also provide site safety and risk assessments – designed to provide you with the information you need to better secure your program.
